The ancient art of creating fire through friction is thousands–perhaps
Millions, of years old. There are many ways to make fire using natural
materials, but one of the most important ways is bow and drill, a method
that has been used by cultures all over the earth. This program will
teach you how to find fire-making materials; introduce you to carving a
set; and show proper positioning of body and the fire making tools. You
will receive the hands on mentoring that is needed for such an in depth
art, helping you continue to develop this skill long after this course
is over. There is nothing like holding your first fire — come experience
this ancient gift! Program will be held rain or shine, please be
prepared to go outdoors briefly in the event of rain. Bring a sheath
knife or locking blade for carving.
