This is a How to video of the way “I” Sterilize my first aid stuff at home
using a pressure canner.

Try to sanitize things as much as possible, particularly things that could be useful, like clamps, scissors, blades, needles, etc. boil them in water for long periods of time, use bleach.
also it’s a good idea is to keep lots of “prep” items on hand, like iodine, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, swabs, q-tips, dressings, etc.

People confuse sterilization with sanitizing or disinfecting- Sterilization implies that you can get rid of EVERYTHING, sanitizing/disinfecting may not get rid of EVERYTHING but still kill most of the little nasties.

steam sterilizers are used world-wide to sterilize a wide range of materials
Only a small amount of water is needed to create the dry steam.
After achieving a minimum temperature of 250°F(121°C), and a pressure of 15 psi, the dry steam penetrates the bandages or instruments, making them sterile in 15 minutes and ready for immediate use. No wiping is necessary to remove chemical residue or moisture, and cutting edges are not dulled.

So 15 psi for 15 minuts.

A medical autoclave is a device that uses steam to sterilize equipment and other objects. This means that all bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores are inactivated. However, prions, such as those associated with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, may not be destroyed by autoclaving at the typical 134 °C for three minutes or 121 °C for 15 minutes. Also, some recently-discovered organisms, such as Strain 121 microbes, can survive at temperatures above 121 °C.
