#bushcraft #survival #firecraft
To go along with the other short videos on fire lays and the 2-stage firelighting process we are going to produce some simple videos on the various ways you can achieve that first stage of any camp fire – the ‘ignition’ phase. This is Volume 1, with 17 different methods.

In this video there are (very) simple demonstrations of the use of:

– Lighters (butane and gas/windproof)
– Matches (Safety and Lfieboat)
– Cotton wool pads with and without petroleum jelly
– Tampons
– Bicycle inner tube (butyl rubber)
– TinderCard and Spartan Tinder sheets
– BCB Fire Dragon blocks
– Sisal string
– Fatwood/Resinwood
– Birch bark
– Honeysuckle bark
– Daldinia concentrica (King Alfred’s cakes/Cramp Balls) fungus
– Potassium Permanganate and Glycerol
